Choosing positive feelings is about focusing on what makes you happy. As you bring more joy into your life, your capacity for love is enhanced and your vibration increases. Yes, every thought you think or feeling you feel is felt throughout the universe. It does matter. Now don’t be alarmed that you are causing a catastrophic event in the world because you got angry in traffic today. Negative thoughts can be a good thing when they are the catalyst for change.

The idea is to just notice your thoughts and more importantly, notice how your thoughts make you feel. Don’t judge yourself. This only leads to more negativity. As you notice thoughts that make you feel tense or angry, try to gently redirect them. For example, when someone cuts you off in traffic rather than becoming enraged, try and redirect your thoughts to those of gratitude that you avoided a car accident. Feel the feelings of relief and gratitude and even joy at the thought that you will arrive at your destination safely.

Why is this important? Positive emotions like gratitude, joy and love vibrate at higher levels. This means that as you send out these vibrations of love – the highest vibration of those three – you will attract more love into your life because your vibration now matches other people and events that are vibrating at the level of love too. So instead of attracting drivers who cut you off in traffic, you’ll start attracting people who allow you to go ahead of them in line at the grocery store. The fastest way to increase your vibration and start bringing wonderful things, events and people into your life is to feel a sense of gratitude as often as possible. Notice the beauty that surrounds you. I always feel like a smile from a stranger, especially a child, is a kiss from God.

Walking in gratitude sends a vibration out to the world that can actually raise everyone’s vibration. Research has shown that when you perform an act of kindness, not only does the recipient feel better and you feel better as well, but even a passerby who simply witnesses your act of kindness will experience an increase in the serotonin levels in their brain, resulting in a heightened state of well being and happiness. You can make a difference even in the smallest things you do.
